GARY, Ind. — Robert Vern Rodgers, born on July 12, 1964, in Gary, Indiana, passed at St. Louis University Hospital on June 19, 2022, at the age of 57.

He is survived by his loving mother, Bonnie Rodgers; his two older sisters, Susan Rodgers, and Vicki Rodgers; and has joined his father, Marion Rodgers, in the next life. He is also survived by his loving and devoted wife, Ronda Rodgers; his five caring children, Teresa Boyce, Andrew Rodgers, Tiffany Sims, Timothy Rodgers, and Shyla Rodgers; and his eight grandchildren, who he shared all of his love with.

Robert graduated at the Marine Corps Recruiting Depot in San Diego and became an armorer at Paris Island, ultimately achieving the rank of corporal before finishing his enlistment.

In 1994, he would go on to marry and spend the rest of his life with his loving wife, Ronda Rodgers.

Robert spent the last 12 years of his working life at Karchmers Storage, formerly Karchmer Pipe and Supply.

Robert will always be remembered for his sense of humor, his love of music, being knowledgeable and handy, and for always helping his family, however he could, whenever they were in need.

Per Robert’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and no public services will be held. Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home at 235 North Sycamore Street Centralia, Illinois 62801, 618-532-3523, is honored to be of service to Robert’s family.
