Lankford holds off challenge from Tulsa pastor

TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) —
Sen. James Lankford held off a feisty GOP primary challenger in Tulsa pastor Jackson Lahmeyer.

Lankford earned 67% of the vote Tuesday, with all precincts reporting. Lankford will move on to face the Democratic candidate this fall in his bid for reelection.
Lahmeyer, 30, is a political newcomer who has accused Lankford of not being conservative enough and criticized him for not endorsing former President Donald Trump's false claims about the 2020 election outcome.
The general election is Nov. 8.
