Alamosa Round-up Demolition Derby a family affair

ALAMOSA – The 2022 Alamosa Round-up weekend concluded on Sunday with its annual demolition derby.

The derby began with the minis with 16 cars entered. Winning the minis was Lee Allen III. Jon McEwen was second and Julian Atencio Jr. was third.

Next of the schedule was the power wheels which was for children ages 10 and younger. There were six entries in this division and Karlee Garrett was named the most aggressive. Santiago Quintana was seconds.

The large cars were next on the schedule with 13 cars entered. The top two places were the sister tandem of Teeka Chacon and Dyani Ojeda who took first and second, respectively. Austin Powell finished third.

Next of the list was the pick-up heat with five trucks entered. It was another family affair as the father and son team of Aden and Jeremy Quintana finishing first and second, respectively. Jonathan Lunder was third.

The derby ended with the clean-up heat with seven cars entering. Dominic Cisneros took first place and Sofia Chacon was second.
