A Salem resident has been sworn in as the new Director of Public Safety at Kaskaskia College.

Shawn Richards replaces the retiring Todd Wagner.   Before joining the college’s police department he served 25 years on the Centralia Police Department, ending as a detective.

Kaskaskia College President George Evans noted that Richard has hit the ground running and he feels the college is very safe under his leadership.  He also noted Richard’s strong ties to state and federal organizations.
