Firefighters respond to two Yuma fires within minutes of each other

Fires seen on Mesa Avenue and East 24th Place

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Yuma Fire Department (YFD) says firefighters responded to two incidents in separate parts of Yuma.

According to YFD, a home was seen with smoke at about 1:45 p.m. on Mesa Avenue, which firefighters quickly responded to.

The fire was burning in the backyard and smoked reached the attic of the home.

Rural Metro says the fire on Mesa Avenue displaced a family of four.

Then shortly after 1:00 p.m., another fire was reported on East 24th Place.

Rural Metro and MCAS firefighters also helped in extinguishing the second fire.

The cases and origins of the fire are still under investigation.
