Michigan State football has made the final three for top-100 defensive end Bai Jobe from Oklahoma. The Spartans look good here.

A little over a week removed from his visit with Michigan State football, Bai Jobe has narrowed down his list.

Early on Tuesday, he announced he would be revealing his final three schools at 6 p.m. ET and he stayed true to his word.

And yes, Michigan State made the cut.

Many believed that the final three would be Michigan State, Vanderbilt, and Miami, but the only program to make the cut from that expected list was Mel Tucker’s Spartans.

It’s clear that Tucker knocked the official visit with Jobe out of the park and that’s a good sign, especially if the Spartans miss out on Enow Etta to Michigan. Even if they land Etta, having Jobe in the class would just make for an ideal start to the defensive line with Andrew Depaepe.

Now the Spartans will have to hope they made a bigger impression on the Norman, Okla., star than the hometown Sooners and Alabama.

Jobe is unbelievably talented and is ranked the No. 64 overall prospect, ninth-best edge rusher, and No. 1 Oklahoma recruit in the entire 2023 class, per the composite.

An ideal class on the defensive line would include Depaepe, Etta, Jobe, David Hicks, and Jayden Wayne, but there are other prospects on the board who could make Brandon Jordan’s first recruited group elite.

If Jordan is able to bring in Jobe, that would be his biggest win as pass rush specialist yet. And Jobe would become the highest-ranked Spartan commit in the Tucker era.

A decision should be coming soon and Michigan State has to feel good about this one.
