BENEFIT FOR THE ZWAHR FAMILY ON JULY 9

A benefit is being held for a Brenham native, who is currently serving as a La Grange Police Officer.

Officer Curtis Zwahr’s wife, Jessica, passed away from cancer soon after she gave birth to their son three months early.  Zwahr’s son, Curtis Jr.,  remains in the Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit, and he is also raising his eight-year-old daughter, Annabelle.

The memorial benefit meal will be held on Saturday, July 9th, at the La Grange Knights of Columbus Hall.  The meal includes a BBQ pork dinner with potatoes, green beans, and tea.

The doors open at 5pm, with the meals being served at 6pm. They can either be dine-in or take-out.  The meal tickets cost $15 each.

There will also be silent and live auctions along with live music.  Proceeds from the benefit go to help defray the medical bills for both Zwahr’s wife, and their infant son. Money raised will also help cover the family’s ongoing travel expenses and funeral costs.

Tickets can be purchased in La Grange at City Hall or the Fayette Savings Bank, in Fayetteville at Orsak’s Café or Fayetteville Bank, in Ellinger at MAD Taxidermy, and in Brenham at Felder’s Buy ’n’ Bye, K&M Grocery, or Legacy Suites. Donations for the silent and live auctions can be dropped off at Legacy Suites located at 206 West First Street in Brenham.
