A teen and a man were arrested Monday after a traffic stop in the 1800 block of South Second Street.
Springfield Police pulled over the vehicle they were inside at approximately 11:43 p.m.
Officers quickly learned they were in violation of the Cannabis Control Act.
A search of the vehicle led police to discover 33 grams of suspected cannabis, a loaded .40 caliber Smith and Wesson semi-automatic pistol and a 5.56 caliber Diamond rifle.
We're told the rifle was stolen from East St. Louis.
Bayron Whitley, 21, of East St. Louis, and a 17-year-old boy from Belleville were arrested on multiple charges.
Whitley was arrested for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and possession of a firearm-no FOID. He is now at the Sangamon County Jail.
The teen was arrested for aggravated unlawful use of a firearm, possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a firearm-No FOID. He was processed and released to his parent.
