"Words can’t express the sorrow of her mother, children, partner, and family at this shocking news.," Lorie Armstrong Hurst wrote. "To know her was to love her and she was loved by so many as evidenced by the droves of people who have already reached out and shown up."

According to a press release, a 52-year-old woman from Emmett, Idaho, was traveling northbound on the highway in a 2017 Jeep Renegade when she crossed the center line and struck a 2017 Kawasaki motorcycle traveling southbound.

The driver of the motorcycle was a 61-year-old man from Star, Idaho.

The two motorcycle occupants were transported via air to a hospital where the woman succumbed to her injuries. Police said both individuals were wearing helmets, and the driver of the Jeep was wearing a seatbelt.

Traffic in both directions of State Highway 16 was blocked for approximately five hours while emergency responders assisted and cleared the scene.

Officials said evidence indicated alcohol may have been a factor for the driver of the Jeep.
