BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A ribbon cutting ceremony was conducted Tuesday to welcome Raleigh County’s newest enterprise, Eye Candy Optical.
The eyewear design hub opened the doors to its North Eisenhower Drive location Monday morning, in a ceremony held in conjunction with the Beckley-Raleigh County Chamber of Commerce.
In attendance, along with several members of the community and chamber of commerce, was City of Beckley Mayor Rob Rappold.
“I can’t think of a more appropriate business to start here in Beckley,” said Mayor Rappold at the ceremony. “I love what you all have done with this building and the parking lot, and we’re so glad to have you. Thank you very much.”
Also present was Congressional Staffer Ben Spurlock who spoke on behalf of Senator Joe Manchin.
“It’s a pleasure to be here for another gorgeous day in Beckley, West Virginia and to congratulate you all on your new location and opening, and what you’re about to contribute to this community,” said Spurlock. “Also thank you to Mayor Rappold for being here to show his support on behalf of the city. On behalf of the senator I have some brief remarks to share to commemorate the occasion.”
Spurlock then proceeded to recite prepared remarks from Senator Manchin in commemoration of the event, which read as follows,
“On behalf of the citizens of the Mountain State, and as your United States Senator, it is my distinct honor to join you in celebrating the ribbon cutting and grand opening of Eye Candy Optical in beautiful Beckley, West Virginia.
