Selma Police and Zeta Phi Beta give out bikes

Selma Police and Zeta Phi Beta donated bikes at the police department.

Members of Zeta Phi Beta sorority donated bikes to the Selma Police Department to be given to needy residents.

Selma Park and Recreation Director Denisha Hendricks is a member of Zeta Phi Beta Inc. She said the sorority is excited about the opportunity to give the bikes to people who need them. “We are so happy to support this effort, anything to help the children of our community.”

Hendricks said this is also supporting health and wellness “Bike riding supports health and wellness and when the kids are riding, somebody has to be out there with them, so it includes all of the family.”

The bike giveaway was also a memorial to slain officer Marquis Moorer who was shot and killed while on duty on July 27 last year.
