Entering this past weekend, Purdue did not have a single wide receiver committed to the 2023 recruiting class. That has changed in a hurry with a trio of receivers now pledged to the Boilermakers.

The third came on Tuesday afternoon from Jaron Tibbs, a 6-foot-4 receiver out of Cathedral High School in Indianapolis. The rangy Tibbs has generated offers from Iowa, Ball State and Eastern Michigan among others before committing to Jeff Brohm and Purdue.

According to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, Tibbs is a 3-star prospect and the No. 14 prospect out of Indiana for the class of 2023. He is also rated the 159th WR nationally for the cycle.

Tibbs becomes the 5th in-state prospect to commit to Purdue for the cycle and joins TJ McWilliams as fellow in-state receivers to commit to the Boilermakers. McWilliams committed to Purdue on Sunday. Ryne Shackelford, a WR out of Ohio, committed on Monday.

Purdue’s 2023 recruiting class is now up to 15 total commitments and is ranked 18th nationally by the team recruiting rankings.
