Graphic details released in horror death of teen found dead in a school parking lot after chilling 911 call

GRAPHIC details have been released in the horror death of a teen found in a school parking lot in June after a chilling 911 call made by his friends.

Ethan Liming was found beaten to death in the parking lot of the LeBron James' I Promise School in Akron, Ohio, on June 2, 2022.

The Summit County Medical Examiner's Office has released its findings following an autopsy performed on Liming.

They found that Liming had suffered a broken occipital bone connected to the cervical spine.

It also protects the brain.

The report revealed that the 17-year-old was also stomped on, leaving the imprint of a shoe on his chest wall.

Three people have since been arrested in connection to Liming's death.

Affidavits related to the arrest of the three suspects further describe the altercation, stating that the men "punched" and "assaulted" Liming and his three friends.

The affidavit, obtained by Fox News, also states that the men "beat Liming until he was unconscious" and "then beat him more" while "he was unconscious on the ground."

"WE DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO"

Liming and his friends were playing with a plastic gun that shoots water pellets after driving onto the grounds of the I Promise School moments before his death.

A fight ensued between Liming and his three friends after they reportedly shot the pellets at three other men playing basketball.

"The teens then appeared to have targeted or approached the subjects, who were on the court and fired the gel soft gun at them," police said.

"The collective actions of the teens in the car appear to have unfortunately provoked the altercation."

One of Liming's friends called 911 at approximately 10.42pm local time, telling police, "We're at the I Promise School in Akron, Ohio."

"Our friend just got knocked out. We don't know what to do."

The dispatcher asked if there was a fight going on.

"There was," the young man said.

"It's OK now. It's cool now."

The caller also told the dispatcher that Liming was breathing before the call abruptly ended.

Liming was pronounced dead less than 30 minutes later.

'WE MOURN AS ONE FOR ETHAN LIMING'

Liming was about to start his senior year at Firestone Community Learning Center, where he was in the Academy of Design.

"Our Akron Public Schools family expresses its deepest condolences and offers its prayers to the family and friends of a student who lost his life last night," Superintendent Christine Fowler Mack said in a letter to school community members.

"We mourn as one for Ethan Liming."

She continued: "The death of a student affects all of Akron Public Schools. Ethan's passing is, sadly, one of many we have experienced during this school year.

"May we all pause a moment from our daily pressures to give thanks for the lives of these children. 

"May we forever find ways to keep our memories of them alive. Each of these losses reminds us about how precious, and sometimes fleeting, life can be."

The LeBron James Family Foundation, which supports the I Promise School, also released a statement acknowledging Liming's tragic death.

"Our community is everything to us.

"We were devastated to learn of the overnight incident that saw a life lost near our school. We are grieving with our community over another senseless act of violence.

"Our campus is safe and secure as we continue to do everything we can to support our students, families, and the entire Akron community."

LeBron James also weighed in, offering his condolences.

"Our condolences goes out to the family who lost a loved one!!" he said via Twitter.

"My [May] the heavens above watch over you during this tragedy! Pray for our community!"

THREE ARRESTED

On June 11, 2022, nine days after Liming's death, United States Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force members arrested three men in connection to the crime.

Deshawn Stafford Jr, 20, Tyler Stafford, 19, and Donovon Jones, 21, were arrested after the US Marshals issued warrants for homicide.

Each man pleaded not guilty and was ordered to be held on $1million bail when they first appeared in court on June 13.

 "Ethan's senseless and tragic death has touched every person in our community," said Akron Mayor Dan Horrigan.

"These arrests would not have been possible without the dedication of our Akron Police Department and their collaboration with the US Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force.

"They have worked around the clock on this case and I thank them for their tireless efforts. My thoughts and prayers remain with the entire Liming family at this time."

Akron Police Chief Stephen Mylett also released a statement thanking community members for the "outpouring of support that helped investigators throughout this investigation."

He added that the department will "continue to follow any leads that will result in bringing those responsible for Ethan's death to justice."

"While I believe the news of the arrests will be welcomed by Ethan's family and loved ones, we all recognize that nothing will bring Ethan back," the police chief said.

"Violence in this country must stop. We are losing too many lives to senseless acts of violence."
