81-Year-Old Killed after Single-Vehicle Crash on Golden State Freeway

CASTAIC, CA (June 28, 2022) – Friday morning, officers received a report of a crash on Interstate 5 that claimed the life of Leonard Rarick.

On June 24th at 9:30 a.m., police responded to a single-vehicle crash involving a Honda near the Templin Highway on the northbound Golden State (5) Freeway.

According to Los Angeles County Fire Department, paramedics arrived at the scene at 9:42 a.m. where Rarick was pronounced dead at the scene.

Additionally, one other person suffered injuries in the crash and was sent to the hospital for treatment.

The cause and circumstances leading up to the collision are still unknown at this time.

Moreover, an active investigation into the fatal collision on the 5 Freeway is currently underway.
