The City of Chillicothe has been covered for Cyber Security Insurance through MIRMA, The Missouri Intergovernmental Risk Management Association, but recently the city was informed MIRMA will not cover Cyber Insurance. At Monday’s City Council meeting, the City Auditor, Allison Jefferies presented bids for the insurance. The council approved a policy from Travelers Insurance for $1 million in coverage that includes ransomware, phishing and other types of scams and risks.
The cost of the policy is $12,690 per year.
