The longer the transfer saga involving Jota drags on, the more panic and anxiety there will be amongst the Celtic fans about the deal. All the noise from the media has suggested that a permanent move to Parkhead is considered to be only a matter of time. But that has been the status for a while now, and yet, a transfer is not complete yet.

As a result, it should not come as a surprise that a large section of the Celtic fans have been left worried about whether a deal could fall through in the final stages. At the end of the day, it is not something that has not happened in the past.

Jota not being present at the first day of pre-season for Celtic will have only increased the worries. But there is some positive news coming out regarding the matter as well.

As reported by Football Scotland, the Eagles underwent medical and physical tests over the weekend and were back on the training pitch yesterday, but while the Portuguese club were being put through their paces at Benfica Campus, there was no sign of Jota.

Celtic handed boost in Jota transfer race

Thus, Jota has not returned to training for Benfica either, and he was recently pictured at a music festival, as the Portuguese youngster has been on a bit of a world tour during this off-season.

While the suggestions have been that the deal is on the verge of completion for a while now, one can only wonder why he is not a Celtic player yet and if there is a possible stumbling point.

Till now, there has not been much to suggest that a deal will not ultimately happen and a number of reliable sources have stated that the deal is in the final stages before completion. One can only hope that that is indeed the case and Jota is a Celtic player soon.
