Salem-Keizer high school football schedules include league games in southern Oregon

The high school football schedules for this fall are out, and it will look different for the Salem-Keizer schools.
After the latest OSAA reclassification and redistricting, there is no more Mountain Valley Conference and North Salem is back up at the Class 6A level, joining South Salem, West Salem, Sprague and McNary.
The Vikings are at the 6A level for the first time since the 2017 football season.
The five local 6A teams will be combining with Southern Conference schools Sheldon, Roseburg, Grants Pass, North Medford and South Medford in Special District 1.
Their schedules will consist of seven league games and two nonleague games. And it calls for at least one trip to southern Oregon for a league game for each of the 6A teams.
McKay, which is now at the 5A level in all sports, will return to a Mid-Willamette Conference schedule for the first time since 2019.
