Erlanger dedicates new life saving aircraft

erlanger life force aircraftErlanger held a ceremony Tuesday afternoon to dedicate its brand new Life Force Air Medical Helicopter.

The new aircraft is equipped with technology that allows it to fly greater distances and carry additional clinicians. It is stocked with equipment used to transport patients in need of extra-corporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) as well as balloon pumps for patients who require cardiovascular support.

Robbie tester is the Life Force Senior Director, he said this new upgraded aircraft will the lives of more Tennesseans.

“This new aircraft will impact is going to impact countless lives.We do about 3,000 transports on life force withour six helicopters each year, we take over 5,000requestsfor service, not all of those materialize. What this is going to do is let us serve not only those patients were serving today, but also a patient population that we can’t do in our current aircraft,” said Tester.

The new aircraft will be stationed at the Cleveland, Tennessee base
