HOPEWELL, Va. (WRIC) — A train traveling through the City of Hopewell crashed into a large tanker truck early Tuesday morning. No injuries were reported in connection to the incident.
The crash occurred on Rev C.W. Harris Street, right in front of the Hopewell Fire Department.
The crash left the tanker truck flipped over onto its side and heavily damaged. Tow trucks were called to the scene for assistance. Crews worked through the afternoon to carefully lift the tanker truck, which 8News learned was a combustible fuel truck, from the tracks.
The train did stop after the crash and was not derailed.
