The death toll has risen to four people after an Amtrak train derailed Monday in Missouri.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop B tweeted Tuesday that four people have now died. Previous reports on Monday said three people had died.
A statement from Amtrak said the train, headed from Los Angeles to Chicago, hit a dump truck at a public crossing in Mendon Monday afternoon at 1:42 pm.
Officials say three of the fatalities were people on the train. The other person who died was in the truck.
About 150 people were taken to 10 different hospitals for treatment. Their injuries range from minor to serious.
There were 275 total passengers on the train and 12 crew members, according to a statement from highway patrol officials.
The crash came a day after three people were killed when an Amtrak train smashed into a car in California killing three people in the vehicle.
