Owners of fireworks stands say they're working hard to give you the most bang for your buck.
Sales kicked off in the tri-cities on Tuesday.
For one week every year, Trent Hill trades in the uniform of the Grand Island Police Department for his stand Red White and Boom Fireworks.
He says he used to buy everything from one distributor but says this year was a challenge and he had to make a bigger investment to find inventory to stock the stand.
“With the new struggles of shipping, instead of working with one wholesaler you might have to work with six wholesalers to get the product you need. That’s the first struggle and the next is getting the stand put up, and making sure you have all your paperwork in line to get your permit,” he said.
Hill says he enjoys helping people celebrate our nation's independence and the stand generates college money for his kids.
