BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Summer season is in full swing, and the residents of Raleigh County have been eagerly filling the recently reopened Black Knight Pool and newly renamed Sharon Dempsey Memorial Pool in a collective effort to beat the heat.
Those coming for the thrill of the water slide will have to wait, however, as the attraction is to be closed for the remainder of the day Tuesday.
An announcement from the City of Beckley reports that the attraction was vandalized on Monday night, and would be closed throughout the business day on Tuesday.
The extent of the damage is unclear at this time, as no further information has been released. But the attraction is expected to be back up and running in time for the arrival of guests on Wednesday.
The remaining areas of the pool remain functional, and the pool continues to boast an impressive amount of foot traffic, even given the temporary sidelining of what is perhaps the pool’s most popular attraction.
