PONTIAC (WWJ) -- A work altercation between an employee and his supervisor escalated into a deadly shooting after the supervisor went to the employee's house and opened fired on him, authorities say.

The Oakland County Sheriff's Office said the incident occurred shortly before noon on Monday when deputies were called to a home in the 800 block of Woodland Drive in Pontiac.

Daniel Brotemarkle, 25, was found by police laying unresponsive outside his home with multiple gunshot wounds. Police found 9mm shell casings from the scene and Brotemarkle was rushed to a local hospital.

The victim was given emergency medical care, but Brotemarkle died of his injuries a short time after his arrival.

During their investigation, detectives discovered the victim and his supervisor, a 27-year-old Pontiac man, were involved in an altercation at work. Brotemarkle ultimately left in a company truck and drove home.

The supervisor and other-coworkers went to Brotemarkle's home to get the truck back when a second altercation between the two men broke out, police said.

Detectives accuse the supervisor of producing a weapon and shooting Brotemarkle several times.

According to the sheriff's department, deputies were able to tracking the supervisor down to a home on Perkins Street and was taken into custody.

Authorities said the suspect is currently being held in the Oakland County Jail and is expected to be arraigned in the case in the coming days.
