City View head basketball coach Bobby Morris was the district's winningest coach. He was found dead at his home Monday.

A coach and teacher at City View ISD is dead after allegations of sexual misconduct circulated on social media.

Burkburnett Police received reports of a gunshot on Jan Lee Drive shortly after 7 p.m. Monday and found Bobby Morris dead at his home. Crime scene tape was placed and a small crowd gathered at the scene.

Shortly before the shot, a note was posted on Morris's Facebook page which said to family members, "I'm so sorry I'm not as strong as you...." To team members he said, "I hope you all just remember the good times...I'm so sorry."

In the post, Morris did not respond directly to the social media allegations that appeared a couple of days prior. His post has since been deleted.

On Thursday, Morris had been named Texoma's Nexstar Small School Coach of the Year at an awards ceremony hosted by KFDX-TV. After congratulations appeared on Facebook, posts appeared from women who claimed instances of inappropriate sexual behavior by Morris.

One poster claimed she had been questioned by a City View administrator and was told parents had complained about Morris for years. She said nothing was done. Other posters made similar allegations.

City View Superintendent Tony Bushong said a district employee had been placed on leave during an investigation, but did not name the employee,

He said the district had not received any complaints.

"No one has come forward to the District to file a complaint against any of our employees,” Bushong said in a statement.

He also issued his own statement on Facebook saying, "City View ISD will not tolerate any acts of misconduct. However we will not address such serious allegations over social media."

He advised anyone with a complaint to file it with him or the chief of police.

Morris led the City View boys basketball team to the Class 3A state tournament last season. It was City View's first ever appearance at state. They lost in the state semifinals.

Morris started coaching at City View in 2011 as assistant boys basketball coach. He was promoted to head coach in 2016 and became the program's all-time winningest coach, winning two district titles. He took City View to the playoffs in all six seasons as a head coach, winning the program's first playoff game since 2005 in 2021.

He was also defensive coordinator of the City View football team and taught chemistry.
