ROCK VALLEY—A 35-year-old Rock Valley man was arrested about 5:30 a.m. Saturday, June 25, on charges of first-offense operating while under the influence, interference with official acts and speeding.

The arrest of Justin Mark Van Tilburg stemmed from an attempt to stop of a 2012 Harley-Davidson FHX clocked at 80 mph in a 55-mph zone near Rock Valley, according to the Rock Valley Police Department.

Van Tilburg continued to a property at 3104 Fig Ave., where he laid the motorcycle on its side and fled on foot.

He was caught attempting to hide between two semitractor sleeper boxes.

Van Tilburg had bloodshot/watery eyes, impaired balance, slurred speech and the odor of an alcoholic beverage and failed field sobriety tests.

He admitted to consuming alcohol before driving the motorcycle, according to the incident report.
