Gratitude is expressed for highway work

Adam Janet, village engineer for Turkey Creek, expressed a personal thank you to State Senator Heather Cloud and State Representative Rhonda Butler for their work in getting U.S. Hwy 167 N resurfaced from its intersection with La. Hwy 13 to the Rapides Parish line.
“I truly believe those two ladies have worked tirelessly in their efforts to get us a new highway and to bring help to this area of the state,” Janet said during the village council meeting on Tuesday, June 21. “They do a lot, and we really do appreciate it. I hope every resident who lives along that route and uses that route realizes the work that was put into getting us that new roadway.”
Janet went on to say, “I really do appreciate it, and I hope everybody who travels that route does as well.”
Later in the meeting, Chief of Police Steven Ardoin reported a Back to School Bash is again planned for Saturday, August 6, from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. Scheduled to perform are Ashton Dupre, Holly Ortego, Casey Guillory, and Trevor Causey along with other activities.
“I hope to see everybody there,” Chief Ardoin said.
In other action, the council:
• adopted an ordinance to increase the cost of meter installations.
• amended the 2020-2021 fiscal year budget.
• adopted the 2022-2023 fiscal year budget.
• approved the maintenance agreement including mower and litter pickup.
