Pedestrian hit, killed in Kanawha County

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) - The 200 block of Lee Street has been reopened Tuesday following a deadly incident that claimed the life of a pedestrian.

According to the Charleston Police Department, a woman was hit by a car around 11:15 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of traffic, near the intersection of Clendenin Street and Lee Street.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Possible charges are pending in the case, according to Charleston Police, who said a 2015 blue Toyota Camry was involved.

The name of the victim is not being released until police have notified family.
