'Please help': Florida woman posts on social media that she's been kidnapped by ex
It was *** post that got the attention of police and the community titled police help. I've been kidnapped by my ex adding *** picture of *** man identified in the post as Albert Myers asking for someone to call or send police writing. He put dead bolt on door and stole my purse and ID and wallet so that I can't leave being held hostage against my will, adding that he was high on drugs and has *** gun saying I fear for my life. Broward County Sheriff's Office says the post got lots of attention but adds that *** 911 call came in first just before four on saturday and police took action immediately showing up to this address in the 7000 block of southwest eight court. We went by the home today, we're just here about the incident that happened on saturday telling us 63 year old Meyer's barricaded himself inside the home before deciding to come out peacefully. Court records show he has previous domestic violence cases. It's unclear if they involve the same victim from this case. For now. He remains behind bars on *** $15,000 bond. These types of situations are highly dangerous for everyone involved and it could have ended um, in *** much worse way and thankfully it didn't and everyone involved was safe

A Florida woman posted on social media that she had been kidnapped, leading to the arrest of her alleged captor. NBC Miami reports Albert Myers, 63, was arrested in North Lauderdale Saturday on false imprisonment and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and domestic violence charges.Coral Springs police shared a screenshot of the woman's post, which appeared to have been posted on the Ring app. "I'm a black female being held hostage against my will by my ex Albert myers I need someone to call or send police He put deadbolt on door and stole my purse and id n wallet so that I can't leave being held hostage against my will he high on drugs and has a gun I fear for my life for he has a gun inside and threat to use on me please send help to 7704 sw 8th court so police can help get me out," the post read.Broward County Sheriff's Office deputies were called to the area and said they were able to help the woman exit the residence safely. For a brief period of time, Myers reportedly barricaded himself inside the home."Shortly after, the male subject inside the residence was taken into custody without incident. No one was injured. SVU detectives are investigating," the sheriff's office said."These type of situations are highly dangerous for everyone involved and it could have ended in a much worse way and thankfully it didn’t and everyone involved was safe," BSO spokesperson Miranda Grossman said.Myers was booked into jail where he remains on a $15,000 bond.Authorities said the situation can serve as a reminder that people can text 911 in situations where they don't feel safe to call.
