DCSF names Gilchrist as executive director

Margaret Anne Gilchrist has been named the new executive director of the Demopolis City Schools Foundation.

Gilchrist, who served on the Foundation Board this past year, comes to the Foundation from Sumter Timber Company, LLC. where she served as the Accounts Payable Manager for the past 3 ½ years. An active member of First Baptist Church, she volunteers in the Children’s Ministry. She and her husband Justin have two girls, Mary Britton and Kathryn Anne.

“Serving on the Board of Directors this past year, I saw first-hand the positive impact the Foundation has on our local school system,” Gilchrist said. “I’m excited to be a part of this at a larger capacity now and look forward to taking what Ashley has done and building on it to continue moving the foundation and our schools in a positive direction.”

“Margaret Anne brings a great deal of enthusiasm and creativity to the Foundation,” said Peter Michael Reynolds, DCSF president. “We are excited to see how she will take the Foundation to the next level.”

Gilchrist, the fifth director since the DCSF began in 1993, succeeds Ashley Coplin who will end her tenure at the end of the month.

“I’m excited to see all the great things Margaret Anne will do as the Foundation’s executive director, and I wish her nothing but the best in these endeavors,” said Coplin.
