‘Live After 5’ Summer Concert Series Returns to Downtown State College

A free summer outdoor concert series featuring some of the area’s top bands is returning to downtown State College for a second year.

The “Live After 5” Concert Series kicks off for the season with Anchor & Arrow performing from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Martin Luther King Jr. Plaza on South Fraser Street.

“Live After 5 is the perfect example of how our town is connecting local artists and our community,” Downtown State College Improvement District Executive Director Lee Anne Jeffries said in a statement. “We have invited the best local musicians to share their talent in an open-air free venue for all to enjoy.”

DSCID is partnering with Luke Cimbala of local music promoter The Band Junkies to host the concert series, which will take place every Wednesday (except July 13) through the first week of September.

Jeffries said she hopes community members will also use the concerts as an opportunity to explore the downtown’s shopping, dining and art venues.
