You won’t want to miss these five events going on in the Menomonee Falls/Germantown area in July
Summer is in full swing, and you'll want to check out these outdoor events in the Germantown, Lannon, Sussex and Menomonee Falls areas in July.

A Taste of Germantown
What: A Taste of Germantown features food, kids activities, vendors and live music. Live music will be performed by Off the Record at 5 p.m., an eclectic variety of music including jazz standards, ballads, blues and classic rock; Wall of Sound, Germantown High School's competitive marching band, at 6 p.m.; and Fender Bender, a band which at 7 p.m., playing classic to current hits.

Civil War Encampment
What: Learn more about the Civil War and see a live battle re-enactment.
Where: Old Falls Village, N96 W15791 County Line Road, Menomonee Falls
When: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 16 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 17. The battles are at 2 p.m. daily.

Cars on Main
What: Breakfast, a car show and live music throughout the day
Where: Main Street and Lannon Road, Lannon
When: The pancake breakfast is from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and classic car registration begins at 7 a.m. July 31. There will be live music and food for sale during the day, and people can start seeing the cars during breakfast. Car registration ends at 1 p.m.
Cost: $10 donation for each car registered; admission to the event is free

Lavender Festival
What it is: The second annual Lavender Festival is a celebration of lavender. Enjoy the scent, color, flavor and decorating influence of lavender. Downtown businesses will participate in promoting and selling lavender. There will also be vendor booths.
Where: Downtown Menomonee Falls and Village Park, N87W16749 Garfield Drive
When: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a concert from 6:30 to 8 p.m. July 23
Cost: Admission is free

Sussex Lions Daze
What it is: Carnival rides, live music, fireworks, parade, tractor pulls, beer tents, softball tournaments, pony rides, balloon sculpting, refreshments and food.
Where: Sussex Village Park, W244 N6125 Weaver Drive, Sussex
When: 6 p.m. until midnight July 15; noon to midnight July 16 and noon to 6 p.m. July 17
