Teens injured after car goes airborne, hits pole in Raymond, deputies say
An 18-year-old diver and his passenger were hospitalized after he lost control of his car and crashed into a pole, officials say.
Emergency responders were called to Webbs Mills Road around 2 a.m. for a car upside down in a ditch.
According to authorities, Lucas Gaudin of Raymond lost control of the car he was driving south on Route 85. The car crossed into the northbound lane went airborne and hit a utility pole, causing it to snap.
Images show the vehicle on its roof. Officials say Gaudin’s passenger, a 16-year-old was trapped after the crash before being pulled out by Raymond Fire crews.
Both teens were taken to Maine Medical Center for injuries that authorities say are not life-threatening.
Authorities believe speed was the primary factor in the crash.
