The teaser trailer for Hocus Pocus 2 has just dropped.

Set 29 years after the original movie, the sequel takes place in present-day Salem where three teenage girls must stop a trio of witches – the Sanderson sisters – from “wreaking havoc” on the town before Halloween, according to the film’s trailer.

Some of the original cast from the first movie will be in the sequel, Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy will all be reprising their roles as the Sanderson sisters.

However, new faces will also be seen. The teaser begins with a shot of the movie’s three main protagonists; Becca, Cassie and Izzy, according to IMBD – celebrating a 16th birthday. The girls stop at a magic shop where they’re told that witches get their powers on their 16th birthday.

After the girls recite what seems to be a magical chant over candlelight in the middle of the woods, the ground shakes and the Sanderson sisters arrive!

The movie is set to premiere on Sept. 30 on Disney plus.

In Sept. 2021, two buyers for the production company of the film bought props from New Bedford Antiques at the Cove, an antique shop in New Bedford, according to the Standard-Times.

“The items were very New England feel, they had that rustic kind of spooky charm to them,” Donna Gagne, an employee of the store told the newspaper. “Really cool, darkish kind of pieces. But a lot of fun pieces, too. A lot of lamps, dark lamps, dark shades, some pumpkins, different kinds of apothecary jars… very old school New England.”
