WALTON COUNTY, Fla. -- A 17-year-old is charged with robbing two 16-year-olds on the beach in Walton County.
Uriah Alam Maurise Frith, 17, of Freeport, was booked into Walton County Jail for robbery with a firearm.
The incident happened Monday around 11 p.m. Deputies were called to Mystic Cobalt Street in Watercolor.
"The two victims...told deputies they were walking on the beach...when they were approached by a tall black male with short dreadlocks wearing black gym shorts and a black t-shirt," Walton County Sheriff's Office says in a release. "The victims said the subject showed them a firearm tucked into his waistband before snatching the victim’s belongings from her hands and running off."
Deputies say they identified Frith as the person of interest through social media and open-source investigative techniques.
"The suspect’s vehicle was located near the intersection of County Road 283 S and 30A where investigators conducted a traffic stop," the releases states.
According to the sheriff's office, a black handgun was located under Frith’s seat.
"Frith immediately admitted was a BB Gun," the release states. "Frith also admitted to taking the victim’s $70 which was in his pocket."
