Pedestrian killed in collision with driver near Redding early Tuesday

REDDING, Calif. —
The California Highway Patrol is investigating a vehicle and pedestrian collision that left one person dead Tuesday morning near Redding.

Police said the man, whose identity has yet to be released, was walking on the roadway of Canyon Road, and walked into the path of a vehicle driving westbound.
The man died from his injuries. The driver was not injured.

No arrests were made, according the CHP. The collision remains under investigation.
