James Thomas Crosthwait, 91, of McAlester, passed away on Friday, June 24, 2022 at his home.

He was born on February 12, 1931 in Stuart, Oklahoma to James Moses and Rozetta (Akin) Crosthwait. He served in the United States Navy in Fighter Squadron VF #53. He was a seaman assigned to the U.S.S. “Wasp” Aircraft Carrier during the Korean Conflict in 1955. He enjoyed fishing.

He is survived by his sons, James R. Crosthwait of McAlester, OK and Shane T. Crosthwait of Bartlesville, OK; grandsons, Mitchell Crosthwait of Bartlesville, OK, Bryce Crosthwait of Bartlesville, OK and Robert Crosthwait of Albion, ME; sister, Freda Bernard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J.M. and Rozetta Crosthwait; two sisters, Joy Berry and Willa Clift.

Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at Pryor Cemetery in Stuart, Oklahoma.
