Bridgeton Family Financial Center, Check Cashing Business Robbed at Gunpoint

BRIDGETON, NJ – The Family Financial Center, a national company that serves the financial needs of underserved communities was robbed at gunpoint on Friday.

According to police, at 8:33 am, officers were dispatched to 694 N. Pearl Street, Family Financial Center, for a report of an armed robbery.

“According to reports, the store clerk advised that the accused entered the business, pointed a black semi-automatic handgun at her and demanded money,’] The Bridgeton Police Department reported. “The accused was described as a dark skinned black male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, light colored jeans, a black hat, black belt, light colored surgical mask, black sneakers, carrying a black book bag. The clerk contacted police and the accused exited the business through the front door and fled south on N. Pearl Street. No items were stolen from the business.”
