NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Samuel Q. Edwards, 34, who was at the center of a Blue Alert in Tennessee, was killed by Kentucky State Police in Louisville Tuesday, according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

Initially, the TBI said Edwards may be driving a white Chevy Silverado with a missing front grill with a license plate of 88FW55. In a later update, officials said they had located the truck in Millersville, but Edwards was still at large.

Edwards was wanted for attempted criminal homicide, evading arrest and attempted first-degree murder of a law enforcement officer after he shot a Hendersonville police officer during a pursuit, according to the TBI and Metro Nashville Police Department.

The officer suffered non-critical injuries and is being treated at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, police said.

In an update on Tuesday night, TBI agents said Edwards was involved in an exchange of gunfire with Kentucky State Police, killing him.
