Hale Varsity softball recap

By Erica Bernard

HALE – Hale’s Varsity Softball team has gone through many ups and downs through the 2022 season.

From starting the season with 16 girls to ending with ten players was drastic for the team.  With many changes, like the loss of many players and a whole new coaching staff, it was hard in the beginning for everyone to adjust to the new.

Eventually, the girls put everything together and took their first win against AuGres-Sims. They suffered a couple more losses after that, but have come to win four more games, against Charlton Heston Academy and Wolverine High school.

This set the mood for the Lady Eagles going into the district tournament against Alcona on June 4.

The Lady Eagles hit the ball well and limited their defensive errors, but still fell short to the Alcona Tigers. Overall, the team improved a lot over the season, and we are very excited to see what they can do next year!
