Cumberland Police Make Multiple Arrests During Busy Summer Weekend

CUMBERLAND, MD – The Cumberland Police Department made several arrests this past weekend. Today, the department released information on these arrests. These arrests represent only a portion of calls for police service during the wekeend.

BENCH WARRANT SERVED

On Friday, June 24, 2022, the Cumberland Police Department served a bench warrant on Kelly Swick. The warrant was issued as a result of Swick violating his probation. He was originally charged with Trespassing: Posted Property. Swick was arrested and later transported to Central Booking. He was seen by a District Court Commissioner and remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center on a $500 bond.

TRESPASSING ARREST

On Friday, June 24, 2022, at approximately 10:55 AM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department were conducting a foot patrol in the Greene Street area when they located a male subject sleeping on government property that was clearly posted, ‘No Trespassing’. The male subject was identified as Kadin Craze. Craze was placed under arrest. He was later issued a criminal citation and released pending trial at District Court.

CRIMINAL SUMMONS SERVED

On Friday, June 24, 2022, the Cumberland Police Department served a criminal summons on Jennifer Shoap. The summons was issued in connection with an incident that occurred on May 29, 2022, in which police were called to the first block of Washington Street for a destruction of property complaint. Shoap was arrested on this date. On June 1, 2022, the investigating officer was called to the 100 block of Washington Street to make contact with a complainant who wished to report further damage caused by Shoap. After further investigation, the officer filed for additional charges against Shoap. A summons was issued and served.

CRIMINAL SUMMONS SERVED

On Friday, June 24, 2022, the Cumberland Police Department served a criminal summons on Breann Haines. The summons was issued in connection with an incident that occurred on June 17, 2022. An officer of the Cumberland Police Department conducted a traffic stop on Baltimore Avenue for a traffic violation. Haines was a passenger in the vehicle and she was arrested on an active warrant. After further investigation, Haines was found to be in possession of controlled dangerous substances and paraphernalia. The officer filed for additional charges against Haines. A summons was issued and served.

CRIMINAL SUMMONS SERVED

On Friday, June 24, 2022, the Cumberland Police Department served a criminal summons on Natarsha Whaley. The summons was issued as a result of an incident that occurred on June 4, 2022. On this date, at approximately 10:06 PM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department were called to Willowbrook Rd. for a female wanting to file a police report. Officers contacted Whaley and confirmed that she had an active arrest warrant. Whaley became upset and attempted to flee from officers. After a brief struggle, officers were able to take her into custody. The officer filed for additional charges against Whaley. A summons was issued and served.

ARREST WARRANT SERVED

On Saturday, June 25, 2022, the Cumberland Police Department served an arrest warrant on Sara Boschi. The warrant was issued as a result of an incident that occurred on this date at approximately 7:48 AM. Officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of Baltimore Avenue for a disturbance. Police contacted the residents and learned that Sara Boschi had allegedly assaulted one of the subjects at the house. Officers observed that the victim had sustained injuries. After further investigation, Boschi was taken for an evaluation. The investigating officer filed for charges against Boschi at District Court and an arrest warrant was issued. Boschi was later arrested on the warrant and transported to Central Booking. She was later seen by a District Court Commissioner and remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center without bond.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT ARREST

On Saturday, June 25, 2022, at approximately 4:38 PM, officers assigned to a special event at Canal Pl. were informed that Christopher Preston was causing a disturbance and bumping into audience members. Preston was warned by officers to stop this behavior. A short time later, Preston was bumping into audience members again and throwing objects at people. Christopher was asked to leave by security and he refused. Officers ordered Preston to leave the property multiple times. After refusing to cooperate with officers, Preston was placed under arrest and transported to the police station for processing. He was later issued a criminal citation and released pending trial at District Court.

Monday, June 27th, 2022.

***Adult Arrest***
On June 26th, 2022, The Cumberland City Police arrested Stephen Michael Schalizki Jr, 33, of Cumberland MD. Schalizki was arrested on an outstanding Bench Warrant issued by the Allegany County District Court. The Warrant alleged that Schalizki failed to appear in District Court on June 22nd, 2022, on a previous charge of Driving on a Suspended License. Schalizki was taken before the District Court Commissioner for his Initial Appearance where he was released on his own personal recognizance.

***Adult Arrest***
On June 26th, 2022, The Cumberland City Police arrested Andrew Jacob Getz, 42, and Amy Lynn Schadt, 43, both of Cumberland MD. Both subjects were arrested on outstanding arrest warrants stemming from an incident that occurred on June 7th, 2022. During this incident, it is alleged that stole a debit card belonging to an acquaintance of the two suspects. Getz and Schadt then used the card fraudulently to withdraw funds from the victim’s account. As a result of the investigation, arrest warrants were issued for both subjects. Both Getz and Schadt were taken before the District Court Commissioner for their Initial Appearance. Schadt was released on her own personal recognizance. Getz was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center where he is currently being held on $5,000 bond.
