Sheetz is lowering gas prices through the Fourth of July holiday.

With many people traveling for the Fourth of July holiday, Sheetz is offering some of its gas options at lower prices.

Effective immediately, Sheetz will drop prices on Unleaded 88 to $3.99 a gallon and E85 to $3.49 per gallon.

The discount will be available “through the July 4th holiday travel season,” Sheetz said in a statement.

Unleaded 88 is approved by the EPA for vehicles with a model year 2001 or newer, as well as light-duty trucks and SUVs, according to Sheetz. And E85 contains a higher concentration of ethanol and is not compatible for all vehicles, the company said. It is designed for flexible fuel vehicles.

Sheetz advised motorists to check their vehicle’s owner’s manual to determine what kind of gas it can use.

Established in Altoona, Sheetz operates more than 640 sites throughout Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, Ohio and North Carolina.
