Greene Co Recorder Deb McDonald (standing right) gives an update

The Greene County Board of Supervisors met Monday in regular session.

County Environmental Administrator and Zoning Official Chuck Wenthold mentioned Monday night’s public informational meeting with the proposed solar panel project with NationalGrid Renewables in Grand Junction. The Board will begin discussions about establishing its own county ordinance before the end of the six month moratorium in September.

County Engineer Wade Weiss mentioned that if there was to be a federal gas tax holiday, it would impact their construction budget for repairing and replacing roads and bridges. However, he noted that if something similar happens in Iowa with a gas tax holiday on the state road use tax, that would cause issues moving forward.

The Board then approved the business property tax credits as presented.
