Want to watch a fireworks show in Rockford? Here are 13 places to go to celebrate July 4th

ROCKFORD — Colorful fireworks displays will light up the skies over the Rockford region in the coming days as folks prepare to celebrate Independence Day and the various festivals associated with summer. 

The following is a list of some of the fireworks shows planned for the area:

Fireworks on July 3 in Rockford

Rockford Speedway, 9572 Forest Hills Road, Loves Park, will host a fireworks extravaganza after a full night of racing. Gates open at 5 p.m. Racing starts at 7:07 p.m. Admission: $23, Students $18, Children 6-11 $9, Children 5-and-under are admitted free of charge.

Village of Winnebago hosts a fireworks show at dusk next to Winnebago High School, 200 E. McNair Road.

Where to watch fireworks on July 4

Rockford: Fireworks show begins at 9:30 p.m. in the city’s downtown. Preferred viewing at Davis Park, 320 S. Wyman St. Davis Park will have live entertainment and a children’s area with face painting and games. Gates open at 4 p.m. $5 admission, $4 for veterans, Children 5 and under are admitted free.  

Rockford Country Club: Fireworks show begins at 9:30 p.m. Preferred viewing at Oxford Park, 2420 Oxford St.

Beloit: The Beloit Sky Carp are hosting the city’s annual Fourth of July Fireworks Show at ABC Supply Stadium, 217 Shirland Ave., Beloit. The Beloit/Janesville Symphony Orchestra will perform beginning at 7:30 p.m. Fireworks begin at dusk. Gates open at 6 p.m. (free admission).

Cherry Valley: Fireworks show begins at dusk at Baumann Park.

DeKalb: Fireworks show begins at dusk at Hopkins Park, 1403 Sycamore Road, DeKalb.

Durand: Fireworks show begins at dusk outside of Durand High School, 200 W. South St., Durand.

Galena: Fireworks show begins at dusk from Grant Park, 625 Park Ave., Galena.

Huntley: Fireworks show begins at 9:30 p.m. at Deicke Park, 11419 IL Route 47, Huntley.

Mount Morris: Fireworks show begins at 9 p.m. at David L. Rahn Junior High School, 105 W. Brayton Road, Mount Morris.

Stockton: Fireworks show begins at dusk at Stockton Memorial Park, Highway 20 West & Pearl Street, Stockton.

Woodstock: Fireworks display begins at dusk at Emricson Park, 1313 Kishwaukee Valley Road, Woodstock.
