Deputies say an 18-year-old Raymond man was driving with a 16-year-old passenger on Webbs Mills Road, also known as Route 85, around 2 a.m. when he lost control of his vehicle, crossed the northbound lane and went airborne before hitting a utility pole, causing it to snap.
The driver and the 16-year-old were taken to Maine Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Speed is considered the primary factor in the crash, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.
