Four Teens Arrested for Violent Robbery in Ocean city

Ocean City, MD – Police in Ocean City have arrested four teens for a violent strong-armed robbery that took place on Saturday,.

Police responded to the area of 20th Street and Philadelphia Avenue where they met with the victim, a 25-year-old, from Baltimore.

“The victim informed officers that he had been assaulted by three males who stole some of his personal property. The victim was seen by Ocean City EMS and was transported to AGH for injuries related to the assault,” police said. “The victim and the suspects were acquaintances. The victim and suspects had spent time together in the suspect’s motel room before the assault occurred. The suspects left the area with the victim’s belongings before officers arrived on the scene. The victim was able to provide officers with detailed descriptions of the three suspects.”


Later, officers observed a group of three males walking in the area of 23rd Street and Philadelphia Ave and were ultimately able to stop two of the males, identified as D’Andre Sampson and Jaden Mallery. Officers recovered some of the victim’s personal property.

“Additional officers responded to the suspect’s motel in the area of 26th Street and Philadelphia Ave where they located Jalyjah Malcolm and a male juvenile inside the motel room. During the search of the suspect’s motel room, officers located additional items belonging to the victim. Officers were able to obtain video footage from the area that showed the victim and four suspects together before the assault occurred,” police reported.

The following four arrests were made:

  • Jelyjah Joseph Malcolm, 18, Johnstown, PA: Robbery, assault first-degree, assault second-degree, theft $100-<$1,500, and reckless endangerment. Malcolm was seen by a Maryland District Court Commissioner and was held without bond.
  • Jaden Shawn Mallery, 18, Canonsburg, PA:  Robbery, assault first-degree, assault second-degree, theft $100-<$1,500, and reckless endangerment. Mallery was seen by a Maryland District Court Commissioner and was held without bond.
  • D’Andre Xavier Sampson, 18, Johnstown, PA: Robbery, assault first-degree, assault second-degree, theft $100-<$1,500, and reckless endangerment. Sampson was seen by a Maryland District Court Commissioner and was held without bond.
  • Juvenile, 17, Johnstown, PA: Robbery, assault first-degree, assault second-degree, theft $100-<$1,500, and reckless endangerment. The juvenile was waived to adult status and seen by a Maryland District Court Commissioner, where he was held without bond.
