Mr. and Mrs. James R. Garrett of Crawfordsville celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on June 19 with a catered, surprise family dinner.
Garrett and the former Lucille Bailey were married June 28, 1952, at Michigantown, Indiana, with the Rev. Vard Van Briggle officiating.
Randall is retired from RR Donnelley & Sons Company and enjoys reading and walking on the Sugar Creek Trail. Lucy is retired from Elston Bank/National City Bank and enjoys sewing and quilting with the Sugar Creek Quilt Guild. The Garretts are 50-plus year members of the First Christian Church in Crawfordsville, and were longtime members of the Strawberry Festival Committee.
They are the parents of one son, Phillip, of Crawfordsville. Their grandchildren are Neil (Melissa) Garrett of Swansea, Illinois; Elizabeth (Jared) Kirby of Crawfordsville; and Allison (Brian) Pyle of Crawfordsville. Their great-grandchildren are Ava Stephens, Callaway Garlock, Bryson Stephens, Leah Garrett and Sawyer Kirby.
