(Grand Forks, ND) -- No injuries were reported after a car was driven into a Grand Forks apartment building Monday evening.

The Grand Forks Police Department tells WDAY Radio that around 7 p.m, crews were called to the apartment complex in the 2100 block of 36th Avenue South.

Authorities say the 29-year-old driver had parked at an angle outside the building, and tried to correct their position when the gas pedal was pushed down and the car remained in drive. That's when the driver ran a curb and smashed through a patio door. The car got nearly half a foot inside the actual apartment before it stopped.

The driver was cited for Unqualified Operator and Care Required. The Grand Forks Police Department says it would like to remind all drivers to operate their vehicle in a safe manner at all times.
