Victim in electrocution identified

A person died at a Danforth Street home where a fire occurred on Thursday morning, June 23, 2022.

Authorities have identified the man who was electrocuted Thursday while removing an antenna from a Taunton home as Michael E. Messina, 58, of Easton. Messina's obituary describes him as a devoted husband to Loretta "Lori" (Richman) Messina and beloved father of two girls, Olivia and Maria. Messina was a master carpenter, construction supervisor and real estate investor, according to the obituary published by Kane Funeral Home. Learn more about his life here. 

A two-century-old home in the city's Historical District, off Church Green, has sold. The Federal-style estate, with 4,000 square feet of living space, six bedrooms and three bathrooms, was built in 1825 and "has stood the test time," according to the home's description, from listing agent Keller Williams Realty.
