NORTHAMPTON – Call me ordinary, but I am a sucker when it comes to simplicity in food. Most who know me understand that I like meals generally unadorned, whether it be plain burgers with cheese or a pizza with just pepperoni. Some may think I am foolish, but I happen to enjoy the intimacy of core ingredients that make a good meal.

Staying on brand, I took a trip to Cooper’s Corner on the corner of Main and Chestnut Streets in Florence to try their buffalo chicken sandwich with lettuce and cheese. Unlike the buffalo deli meats you’d find at a grocery store, which usually features jagged edges and rubbery qualities, the buffalo meat at Cooper’s tasted astonishingly garden-fresh and unprocessed.

Between the meat, American cheese and lettuce, the sandwich altogether presented a refreshing crisp that made it seem like it was a newly-harvested item from their backyard.

It may seem like it is difficult to mess up a deli sandwich, but I have had my fair share of subs in the past where the ingredients did not appear fresh. Cooper’s, on the other hand, seems to take pride in their organic ingredients, making it one of the premier delis in the Hampshire County area.

Cooper’s Corner offers sandwiches ready to order. They welcome walk-in customers, but they encourage people to call 586-1684, ext. 4, to order ahead of time. They offer sandwiches, garden salads, deli salads, sliced Boar’s Head meats and cheese for grab and go.

Additionally, the deli is tucked inside a fully stocked grocery and liquor store. For more information on what Cooper’s Corner offers, visit their website: https://statestreetfruit.com/coopers-corner/.
