Amtrak and MBTA commuter rails face delays due to downed tree

Three Amtrak trains and MBTA commuter trains are facing delays after a downed tree was caught in the overhead catenary wires.

The three Amtrak trains -- numbered 94, 84 and 2170-- began moving around 10:30 p.m. after being held up in Providence for around an hour.
Amtrak said the three trains are running around an hour and 15 minutes late.
Commuter rails coming into Providence were also delayed after having to stop in Massachusetts.
MBTA Commuter Rail tweeted Providence Line Train 835 is operating around two hours and 20 minutes behind schedule after being held up in Mansfield.
Crews are currently inspecting for damage, according to Amtrak.
